Young People
The Church is always concerned for the education of young people in the Christian faith, through a knowledge of the Bible, the traditions of the Christian faith, a knowledge of the sacraments and participation in worship.
Fun and Friendship
There are music camps, outings for parish children and families, and 10am classes at mass for 5 to 12-year-olds on the first Sunday of the month in school term time. Teenagers also have many cultural and social events. All Saints has set up a program called ‘Zero to Twenty-five’ to provide a range of activities and organised engagement with different groups up to the age of 25.

Festivals & Traditions
We have beautiful church festivals and traditions. Children join in, for example as altar boys, by taking part in the Corpus Christi procession and scattering rose petals, making palm crosses and crowning Mary with flowers.

It’s easy!
Choose - Mark - Memorise - Present - Act - Send!
Step 1- Choose
Decide on a promise for yourself for "Reverence", "Piety" and "Love" and write them on your calendar card. There are suggestions in the Society handbook. For example you could chose "memorise Morning and Evening Prayer" for Piety, and "write a thank you letter for each gift received" for Love.
Step 2- Mark the calendar card for one month
Pick a start day and from then mark every day (or 7 days in one go if the promise is performed weekly) on your calendar card (the one with the angel drawing on it) that you do your chosen Piety, Love and Reverence promise, as well as Bible reading (it can be just one verse), Morning and Evening Prayer (put the laminated cards up in your bedroom) and Grace before meals. Sunday Mass attendance is marked once weekly. If you physically cannot attend a Sunday Mass, you may make a Spiritual Communion (details are in the handbook)
The calendar card is completed when you have 28 or more (ie 4 weeks of 7 days) marked for each promise, and 4, or 5 Sunday Masses.
Step 3 - Memorise
Memorise the prayers and Psalm 23 for the first medal, on the laminated sheet. If 8 year old Lily (the first person to attain a Society badge) can do it, you can!
Step 4 - Presentation (project)
On an A4 sheet (or larger if you want) glue on a printed out or hand drawn little picture of your favourite young martyr (there are great resources online) and then print out or hand write 5 fun facts about that martyr. This is your "Presentation to other members of the Society on the life of a young martyr”.
Step 5- Act of charity
Perform an act of charity or service. You could write and decorate a get-well card for a sick friend. You could bake a cake or biscuits, or donate pocket money to a charity for the poor.
Step 6 - Send to the Society!
Post your completed (signed by your own parish priest, or a relative) attainment record, your marked-in calendar card, and your project on the young martyr, to:
Father Rene Knaap,
Society of Saint Agnes and Saint Tarcisius
c/o All Saints' Anglican Church East St Kilda
PO Box 1258
Windsor VIC 3181
AUSTRALIA
and include a note with your return address. If Father is satisfied you have met the necessary stages then he will arrange for your badge to be blessed and posted to you, together with 6 more calendar cards, another attainment record, and laminated cards for the memorisations for the next badge (the beautiful red one).

Classic Kids
All Saints has a Sunday School, ‘Classic Kids’ which operates on the first Sunday of each month during school term starting at 10.00 am. Classic Kids is for all primary school-aged children (5-12 years old) and provides a time of biblical learning, craft, and an introduction to some Latin and Greek.
We have tremendous fun, dressing up, making models and playing games. Boys and girls who join the choirs at All Saints will need to know some Latin, as well as how to read music. They will also need to understand the life of Jesus and the Bible stories about which they are singing. Classic Kids prepares children to join the choirs but is open to all children, whether intending to sing in one of the All Saints choirs or not.
Led by Edwina Kabengele (mother of three) we start at 10am in the beautiful gothic style room at the back of the church (come down the driveway to the back door). We enjoy 45 minutes of music, Latin, Bible stories and craft before returning to the church for the last 10 minutes of the Mass.
In the future we would like to see many of our children continue with Latin to VCE level. Our Bible stories and crafts are based on the church calendar (Saint Nicholas puppets at Christmas, releasing helium balloons for Ascension) and cover all the traditional favourites (Noah’s Ark, Moses and the 10 commandments, the parable of the Loaves and the Fishes) as well as some less well known stories (Elijah fed by Ravens, Belshazzar’s Feast).
Come along and have some fun on a Sunday morning. Younger children are also welcome, if a parent can come with them. For more information, please contact the Convenor of Classic Kids, Mrs Edwina Kabengele, email
