The parish life of All Saints’ East St Kilda revolves around the Eucharist (the Mass).
The ministry of preaching is taken seriously and forms a key aspect of the celebration of the mass. In preaching, the Word of God is made alive. The congregation is urged to adhere more closely to the faith of the church and to pattern their lives after Christ.
Our lives are further enriched by the rites and sacraments the church offers. They support the Christian life both at key moments in a person’s life and also by regular participation.
At All Saints, choral music is an important part of our worshipping life. In the Mass you can experience choral masterworks including those by Bach, Mozart, Schubert and Palestrina, often sung in Latin, all within the glorious splendour of All Saints’ Church. Ritual, ceremony, and music have the ability to speak more clearly and with greater volume than words alone.
Our sacred music is offered within its sacred context – the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. All Saints, then, offers a different experience classic choral Masses sung as an integral part of the liturgy, as the composers intended.
